Zhejiang Crossing lies beyond Houchao Gate, once known as the ancient Willow Shore. Qiantang boasts many ferries, of which Willow Shore on the northern bank and Xixing on the southern bank are most renowned; its river winds and turns, its tides rising ten thousand fathoms high, and so it is also called Zhejiang, the Winding River.
The Wuyue Region enjoys the boon of its waterways, with roads open in every direction, and even common folk's boats may venture out to sea. Thus, at today's Zhejiang Crossing, boats and oars gather in such multitude that one cannot see where they begin or end.
Vessels converge here from every direction—southern goods and northern treasures, eastern delicacies and western grain, all gathered without exception. The rarities of all corners of the realm find their way here—why then seek them from afar?
