The moment I arrived at Greenshade Village and set foot on the field ridges, an old farmer and a young scholar grabbed me to show off the leeks they had grown together!
Ploughing and reading, ploughing and reading. Strange as it sounds, the leek shoots on the ridge were planted so neatly they looked exactly like the grids used for calligraphy practice in an academy.
After downing two bowls of wine at the market, my head was spinning delightfully. The wind blowing through Greenshade Village carries the scent of leeks, the aroma of wine, and the fragrance of ink. I suspect even the stones by the roadside have memorized the classic verses of the cooing ospreys.
I wandered around the village for a few days, watching the lively Crownleek Contest and listening to the hawkers at the Benevolence Bazaar. I found myself wanting to stay longer in this farming and studying village, simply because listening to the folks from the Inkbound Order talk is so endlessly fascinating. If only I could rent half an acre of land here: farming leeks by day, turning the pages of books by night. It would be fine to never leave. Alas, the martial world still holds too many beautiful sights unseen.
Leeks pair well with wine, and books intoxicate the soul. All in all, coming to this place was the right choice!
