Geography: Dragonbend Mountain

by Wayfarer

A majestic crest of the Northern Peak, Dragonbend Mountain rises where three great mountain ranges meet. Legend tells that when Yu the Great tamed the ancient floods, he imprisoned a mighty flood-dragon beneath these very crags, forever giving the mountain its name. For centuries, Dragonbend Mountain has stood as a revered sanctuary. The smoke of temple incense has never faded, and countless stone steles remain to sing its praises. It was here, during the Han Dynasty, that the scholar Li Gong first gathered his students, laying the foundation for what would become the Dragonbend Academy. Ages later, the illustrious Tang Dynasty scholar Guo Zhen ventured into these woods, unearthed a legendary blade, and wrote his renowned Ode to the Precious Sword. He built a humble retreat to teach, and from then on, a rich scholarly tradition flourished, drawing eager minds from across the realm. Yet it was during a dark era of endless war and fractured empires that the Mohist Elder Crane took his boldest stand. Driven by a profound sense of duty, he braved the perils of a broken world to officially establish the Dragonbend Academy. Under the banner of education for all, he welcomed every seeker of knowledge regardless of birth or blood, hoping to heal a wounded realm through the grace of learning. Though a chaotic age cannot be quieted in a single day, one truth endures: the torch of wisdom has passed from generation to generation, and the ember of the human spirit has never died.
