You arrive well after dark, the fog so thick you can hardly find your bearings. A few strange run-ins along the way, but you press on all the same, worn out by the long, winding climb to the distant summit. Quite the trek, but that sunrise made it all worthwhile.

When it's done (spoiler)
A little skiff carries you across the rivers to Qingzhou, the boatman's song drifting over the water. Under cover of night, you climb Mount Tai, with winding paths and towering crags before you, while wild spirits and worldly cares fall away behind. At the summit, the clouds part and the mists disperse, revealing the first light of dawn. Only then do you truly see: how vast and boundless the land beneath heaven, and all of it yours to roam.
