The miasma grows heavier. Master said the sickness follows not only people, but also water.
In Jiangnan, all wells and springs are connected. The canals link in the dark. A tainted well outside the city will rot a canal inside it.
Master invited the Water Wardens to descend and find the water source. They said water is like a living being with a digestive system of its own.
If the water sources are left open, the foul water can leave. If the sources are sealed, the miasma is trapped.

I have kept watch the entire time.
