Originally a commoner of the Yanyun region, Zhao Tie attempted to return to the Central Plains with his family in secret during the third year of Tianfu. They were hunted by the Khitan; his wife perished, and he and his son barely escaped with their lives, finally reaching sanctuary in Luancheng.
