Legend tells that during the Jin dynasty, a woodcutter went into the mountains to gather firewood, and came across several children playing chess and singing. One of them gave him a jujube pit to hold in his mouth, and upon doing so, he lost all sense of time, and never felt hungry. When at last he came to his senses, he found that the handle of his axe had long since rotted away, and there was nobody in the world who still knew him. As the saying goes, "A day in the mountains, a thousand years in the world."
