The Master's Wall

Told by Ren Woxue, the Visiting Scholar

The entrance to the Inkbound Order's Archives bears neither lintel nor threshold - only two towering walls, each yards in height, laden with meaning. Education for All, and so no lintel, no threshold stands to bar the way. To pass beyond the first wall is to say: "I have entered the Inkbound Order." To pass beyond the second is to say: "I have embarked on the Way." There is yet another reading, one offered in a spirit of wit: The Analects tell us, "The Master's Wall stands many yards high - without finding its gate, one cannot enter." And so the Master's Wall has walls, but no gate. Without a gate, there is naturally no gate to find and enter.
