Told by Xuan Benchu, the Hall of Friendship Steward

The Inkbound Order stands as the leading academy throughout the realm, though the names by which it was known in ages past are now difficult to trace. It is said that within the Imperial Palace of Chang'an during the Tang dynasty, there was an Inkbound Hall - the Order's former seat. After the Baima Incident, that place was laid to ruin, and only after enduring untold hardships was it rebuilt in Qingzhou. In remembrance, the name "Inkbound" was preserved as it had always been. The disciples of Confucianism hold the affairs of the realm close to their hearts, and thus it is inevitable that they find themselves drawn into the courts of power - the fortunes and misfortunes of this academy have ever been bound tightly to the rise and fall of each dynasty in turn. This is both the blessing and the burden of the Inkbound Order.
